California Trip, Part 1

All I can say is WOW! I wish we had a Farmer's Market here at home like this one in Hollywood, CA:) This was the most amazing fruit, and there were little restaurants, ice cream shops, cafes, homemade peanut butter, and my favorite to go with my fruit.......the CHEESE store!!! They had the most incredible melt in your mouth cheeses I have ever tasted.

We're a bit behind here but wanted to share some shots from a fun shoot. We had a great time with Alex and his sweet mom and girlfriend. Alex plays golf for his high school and will be playing for Marshall next year. Alex, we know you'll do great and we hope you enjoy every minute of it!

The Ellis Family Benefit

This is the Ellis family. We had the pleasure of photographing them several months ago.

Megan, Kyle and Karter are so sweet and we are happy to be participating in

The Ellis Family Benefit.

Several years ago Kyle was diagnosed with a brain tumor that returned shortly after our session.

The benefit will be held on January 28th in the Warren High School cafeteria in Barlow. It will include a spaghetti dinner, 50/50 drawing and a country auction. (We have a couple session/photo packages in the auction!)

If you are unable to attend the benefit and would like to donate, feel free to contact us. (information can also be found by following the link above) Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated as medical expenses are very high. We hope you can make it!

Candy Canes & Engagement Rings

Sessions like this are so special. This sweet couple came in town to celebrate the holidays with family and came to us for a "Family Session". Mom had contacted us and informed us about the proposal and wanted us to capture the moment for them and we got SO EXCITED!

The best part (other than her saying yes) was that she had no idea! It was so adorable.

Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your special day. Congratulations! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Fall Family Day 2011

We have been so excited to share all these photos but wanted to wait until after everyone had their holiday cards out to share them. In November we planned an entire day of family shoots and it was a blast. We cannot express how much we appreciate our clients but we definitely enjoy doing special things like this to show our gratitude.

I love capturing and sharing treasured moments for the families of my clients, but I rarely share my own treasured moments. One of my families favorite pastimes is camping. Well, I use the term "camping" loosely considering camping for us is a camper in a camp ground not too far from home, but we enjoy it none-the-less!

We swim and boat and enjoy other outdoor activities in the warmer weather...

...most days end with ice cream...

...or s'mores.

...we're always sad to leave but we love the time we get to spend together.

There's Something About Fall...

Crisp air, lighting fall scented candles and comfort foods... Mmm.. LOVE 'em! Today I realized that fall is really upon us! It is truly my favorite! I'm really looking forward to some delicious dishes (who doesn't love a good "game day" soup) so I thought I'd share a favorite of mine!

Amy’s Potato Chowder

8 cups potatoes, diced and peeled

1/3 cup onion, chopped

3 cans (14-1/2 oz) chicken broth

1 can (10-3/4 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted

¼ tsp pepper

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, cubed

½ lb sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled, optional

Snipped chives, optional

In slow cooker, combine the first five ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until potatoes are tender. Add cream cheese: stir until blended.

Garnish with bacon and chives if desired.

*I add carrots and celery to make my soup extra yummy :)

We had a great time with this family shoot! These kids were a blast! They had a good time posing themselves and they did a great job! We ended up with too many photos to choose from. (A common trend we're seeing develop.) It's really nice when you can see the fun come through in the photos.

A Little Purple Fairy and Future Fashion Models!

Another week in the studio! A couple more shoots this week, but we've mostly been really busy getting photos edited and placing orders with all the shoots we've had in the last couple weeks! Things are moving right along here. We're getting settled and loving every minute!

(left) Another great shoot! This little one was such a sweetheart. She loved those wings the moment she set eyes on them and they really made for some precious photos! She was so cute. Very shy, but we're all pretty sure she's a little ham in reality. :) Hopefully we'll get the chance for another shoot with her sometime!

(right) We had a great time doing family shots for these girls! I think Mom and Dad were as entertaining to us as they were to the girls when they sang to them to get them laughing! We ended up with a lot of great shots, definitely a couple of future models!

Most days we leave wishing there were just a little more time in the day. Seems there's never time to get everything accomplished! Guess that means we're in the right profession, though... no one can freeze a moment like a photographer! We'll definitely be sharing many more moments soon!

This sweet little pup was so well behaved! She just let us pose her in whatever crazy ways we came up with and was the perfect client the entire time! We weren't sure what to expect, as this was our first official pet shoot, but we may just become a pet photography studio! Ok, probably not, but she was precious. Thanks for another great shoot!

In other news, we're working on getting the website completely up to date, adding a ton of new photos to Facebook and spicing up the blog a little, too! Keep checking back to find out what we're up to!

We've been so busy opening the new studio (Whoohoo!!) that we haven't had much time for updates lately! We are now up and running and ready for business in the Putnam Commons building downtown!

Last week was busy. BUSY BUSY! We had almost 10 sessions. They were GREAT! We really enjoyed getting to know everyone in the building and we're really looking forward to more shoots!

I am so excited! I'm signing lease papers Friday on my "NEW STUDIO"! I have so many ideas and To-Do Lists! I can't sleep half the time because my brain is always on overdrive thinking of all the possibilities. I have my wonderful husband/best friend to thank for encouraging me and being supportive and just as, if not more excited, than I am. He says I need to "chase my dream", so I am and I am so blessed to be able to do so. I will update as the progress takes place!!

This is my very first post and I am very excited to get started! I am just starting my photography business in the Marietta, OH area. Photography has become my passion! I think about it 24/7. I have taken some awesome workshops over the past year and have learned so much! Some have been online, some were live, and I have had some one-on-one mentoring on photography and editing. Soon I will be posting some of my work and look forward to your feedback!
